Recent visitors to the State of Ohio’s website at ohio.gov – a place where even frequent visitors could sometimes get lost and have difficulty locating information they need – have discovered a pleasant surprise in recent days.

What was dated and somewhat unwieldly is now brand-new, easy to navigate, and full of great features.

Take just the home page. The primary menu features only five categories:  Residents, Tourism, Jobs, Business, and Government. Each link brings up graphically-rich pages with information and news presented in a tiled format.

A large search bar occupies the center with prompts to find the answer to common questions. Below are areas for the latest news from state agencies and departments, a calendar of events, jobs and tourism links, and more. In addition, the bottom of the home page has a regularly updated compendium of tweets under the heading, “What is trending in Ohio,” similar to the Richland Tweets section on 1812Blockhouse.

The new website is a part of the Ohio Digital Experience initiative, part of the Ohio Department of Administrative Services’ Office of Digital Technology.

To find Ohio’s new home on the Internet, visit ohio.gov.
