Some Spectators Will Be Welcome At The Acura Sports Car Challenge

After working closely with the Ohio Governor’s office and local health officials, IMSA and Green Savoree Racing Promotions have announced today that the Acura Sports Car Challenge at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course set for next weekend, September 25-27, will be open to a limited number of spectators. Those who attend must adhere to necessary health and safety protocols for COVID-19.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s administration approved earlier today a variance to the Ohio Department of Health Director’s Order for sports for a total up to 6,000 spectators to attend. Currently purchased event tickets and Mid-Ohio Season Race Passes will be valid for entry. More…

Herta Takes Honda Indy 200 Race 2

After a challenging 2020 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season, Andretti Autosport finally broke through to Victory Circle in dominating fashion as Colton Herta scored his third career win in Race 2 of the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio doubleheader Sunday at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

NTT P1 Award winner Herta led an Andretti Autosport sweep of the podium in the No. 88 Capstone Turbine #ShiftToGreen Honda, beating teammate Alexander Rossi in the No. 27 NAPA AUTO PARTS / AutoNation Honda to the finish line by 1.3826 seconds. Fellow Andretti driver Ryan Hunter-Reay finished third in the No. 28 DHL Honda, 2.4965 seconds behind Herta.

Rounding out the top five behind the Andretti trio were Ohio native Graham Rahal in the No. 15 Fifth Third Bank Honda and Marcus Ericsson in the No. 8 Huski Chocolate Chip Ganassi Racing Honda. More…

Honda Indy 200 This Weekend At Mid-Ohio

After working with the Ohio Governor’s office and local health officials to confirm a reschedule date, INDYCAR and Green Savoree Racing Promotions have released the details and protocols for limited spectator attendance at The Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course set for this weekend, September 11-13.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced today that a variance to the Ohio Department of Health Director’s Order has been granted for a total up to 6,000 spectators to attend. Currently purchased event tickets and Mid-Ohio Season Race Passes will be valid for entry. A very limited number of tickets remain for sale at midohio.com on a first come, first serve basis. No tickets will be available for purchase at the gate during the race weekend. More…

Just a handful of days after announcing a doubleheader weekend for Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (see our story here), track officials have now announced that the event will be postponed until sometime later in 2020.

Honda Indy 200 Now Features INDYCAR Doubleheader

Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course will open its gates to spectators again on a limited basis for The Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio on August 7-9. The event is now a doubleheader weekend for the NTT INDYCAR SERIES with 75-lap races on both Saturday, August 8, and Sunday, August 9, on the 2.258-mile, 13-turn road course in Lexington.

The event will operate under the “Responsible RestartOhio” guidelines for COVID-19 after receiving approval from the local health department for limited spectator attendance. Tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Customers are encouraged to purchase online in advance at midohio.com. Motorhome and tent camping will also be permitted during the event. The grandstands, paddock and pits will not be open to spectators to adhere to social distancing guidelines. More…

Vintage Grand Prix Of Ohio This Weekend At Mid-Ohio

After nearly a two-month pause, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course will open its gates to spectators on a limited basis this weekend for the Vintage Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio, June 26-28. The race weekend is the longest continuously-running annual event at the motorsports facility in Lexington, Ohio, which previously was the season-opener most recently in 2017.

The Vintage Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio will operate under the “Responsible RestartOhio” guidelines for COVID-19 after receiving approval from government officials for limited spectator attendance. The Mid-Ohio School will operate under the State of Ohio’s guidelines for the “Responsible RestartOhio” surrounding COVID-19. Date For Honda Indy 200 Moves

INDYCAR announced on Thursday that the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course originally set for August 14-16 has been moved to one week earlier on the calendar to August 7-9.

This shift is in support of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES’ efforts to run as many of its points championship races as possible in 2020. Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course moving up its date also opens up the summer calendar further for the Indianapolis 500 to run on August 23. More…

Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington will continue its tradition of showcasing one of the most diverse schedules in all of racing in 2020. Spectacular two- and four-wheel motorsports action will be featured at the North Central Ohio facility during its 59th season of racing.

As announced previously to accommodate broadcast and cable television coverage of the upcoming Summer Olympics in Tokyo, the NASCAR Xfinity Series stop, the Mid-Ohio 170, moves earlier to May 29-30. The ARCA (Automobile Racing Club of America) Menards Series will return to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington for the first time since 1965 when it competes at the 2.258-mile, 13-turn road course on May 30, 2020. American Rallycross Champions To Be Crowned at Mid-Ohio

After making its inaugural appearance at Lexington’s Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in June, Americas Rallycross (ARX) returns for its final event of the 2019 season, the Cooper Tires ARX of Mid-Ohio Round 2, October 5-6.

The racing is on an asphalt and dirt 0.761-mile temporary circuit constructed in the “keyhole” section of the facility with a jump included in the layout.
