There’s something old and something new with upcoming productions for Mid-Ohio Opera. The 2019 season line-up has been announced and includes classical and modern works.

The offerings begin with “Death and the Everyman,” a work by composer, author, and Ohioan Rick Sowash. The chamber opera will feature Andrew Potter in the lead role, and will be paired with other works by Sowash. This will take place on April 26, 27, and 28.

Mozart’s well-beloved “Cosi Fan Tutte” will come next, presented by Mid-Ohio Opera on May 10, 12, 17, and 19. This is an “opera buffe” in two acts dating from 1790, and has been described as a satirical look at the relationship between men and women.

The third offering will be “Carmen” by George Bizet. This will be taken on tour during August. This opera is one of the most popular and performed works in the entire repertoire, and has soaring melodies, dramatic scenes, and famous arias.

The times and locations for all of these presentations will be announced on the Mid-Opera Ohio website and Facebook page.
