On Friday, at 5:00 PM, the Shelby Symphonic Band took the stage at the state contest and delivered an exceptional performance that earned them a Superior rating, the highest accolade an ensemble can achieve. Upon returning to Shelby, the Symphonic Band received a warm welcome from the local community. To mark their achievement, the band was reportedly given a police escort as they arrived back into town.
