Richland Newhope’s Gift Fund has received a donation from the Knights of Columbus Council 1968 in Shelby.

Grand Knight Dave Walsh presented a check for $3,056 during Wednesday’s meeting of the Richland County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

The money was raised as part of the Knights of Columbus’ annual Measure Up campaign which involves all K of C Councils in Ohio. Members of the Shelby council collected donations from patrons at six businesses in Shelby last spring.

The Knights of Columbus Council 1968 is one of several Knights councils in Richland County which supports Richland Newhope and its programs.

The gift fund provides various kinds of assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, such as the purchase of wheelchairs and other adaptive equipment.

Richland Newhope supports more than 1,600 individuals through early intervention, preschool, transition services, day services, supported employment, residential, therapy, and other familysupport programs.
