On Monday night, area kids got an early Christmas present which may well improve their dental health.

Downtown Mansfield’s Little Buckeye Children’s Museum hosted a ribbon cutting for the facility’s newest exhibit. Mayor Tim Theaker, officials from the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce, and others were on hand to unveil the new feature – the Little Staker Dental.

Starting Tuesday, December 11th, grownups can climb into the patient chair while their young dental hygienists get to work on perfecting their pearly white smiles! This exhibit, located on the second floor of Little Buckeye, will feature a reception desk where the children can check-in their patients, a real dentist chair and real tools like gloves, masks and bibs.

Little Buckeye hopes that through imagination-based play children will be able to explore dental tools and procedures in a non-threatening environment made just for them, so that they may grow more comfortable with the idea of going to the dentist.

The exhibit was sponsored by Staker Dental.

The Little Buckeye Children’s Museum is a unique, safe and welcoming environment where young children (1-10) and families can strengthen relationships and experience the benefits of play that are critical to human development.

The museum’s colorful, interactive exhibits support exploration, imagination, creativity, and self-discovery through science, art, and literacy. Classes, adult and family workshops, and outreach programs offer even more opportunities for learning and growth.
