Little Buckeye Donates 200 “Buckeye Bags” Of Toys And Supplies

The Little Buckeye Children’s Museum, even amidst their COVID-19 closure, donated a second round of their award-winning “Buckeye Bags” last week to in-need families in Richland County.

The bags, which won the “Spirit of Community” award from the Ohio Travel Association in 2020, contain toys and supplies for a variety of fun and educational activities that children can do at home, along with a helpful activity guide.

“The goal of our Buckeye Bag Program is to continue in our mission of ‘providing children and families with the opportunity to learn and discover through the power of play’ despite our closure due to COVID-19,” explains Suzanna Hammond, Museum Manager. More…

Little Buckeye Celebrates Richland Gives

Little Buckeye Children’s Museum is responding to meet the needs of the families and children in our community– despite the challenges brought onto them by the COVID-19 pandemic– through their award-winning Buckeye Bag program, and the development of the highly-anticipated Imagination District.

“We have worked tirelessly to adapt to this new world by pivoting our priorities and reducing our costs at every opportunity. We have a clear goal in making the Imagination District a reality, and we are pleased to say that construction is currently underway,” says Little Buckeye Children’s Museum Executive Director, Fred Boll, “But we do need help in bridging that financial gap.”

Richland Gives, an online day of giving hosted by the Richland County Foundation, is set for Tuesday, December 1 from 7 AM to 7 PM. This day, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, is also known as GivingTuesday, a global generosity movement aimed at unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world. Little Buckeye Children’s Museum and Destination Mansfield – Richland County win Ohio awards

The Ohio Travel Association (OTA) produces the RUBY Awards for one reason and one reason only – to provide their members with the opportunity to showcase their value to their communities. In 2020, the OTA awards team threw out the drawing board, reshaped the awards program to fit the times and demonstrate the importance and impact of Ohio’s travel industry during this time. And two local entries won awards: Little Buckeye Children’s Museum and Destination Mansfield-Richland County.

Welcome Back, Little Buckeye

Little Buckeye Children’s Museum has announced they will be reopening their doors to Members on Thursday, October 8.

Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, Little Buckeye Children’s Museum has been committed to reopening at an appropriate time and in a manner that ensures the safety of their team members and their guests. Little Buckeye is deeply aware of the importance of maintaining a safe and healthy environment. As such, they have developed a detailed and comprehensive Reopening Plan that expands on their reputation as a clean, safe, and fun museum and is closely aligned with the reopening protocols set forth by Ohio Governor DeWine’s Responsible Restart Ohio Guidelines.

The Museum will initially reopen to members only and will work towards opening to the general public at limited capacity. To manage capacity, admission will require a timed reservation. Visitors will be able to reserve their admission online starting Monday, September 28. Museum members will continue to enjoy free admission but must reserve admission in advance online. More…

Little Buckeye Wins Ohio Museums Award For Imagination District

Little Buckeye Children’s Museum was recently announced the winner of the Ohio Museums Association (OMA) 2019 Institutional Award of Achievement for Best Community Project for the “Imagination District.”

The OMA Awards program is an annual celebration of the outstanding achievement of Ohio museums in visual communications, individual and institutional achievement, and the tireless work museum professionals undertake to help advance Ohio’s museum community both locally, and on a national level. Winners will be recognized during the Annual OMA Awards Program Ceremony, which will take place Sunday, June 21 at 7 p.m., as the kick-off event for the 2020 Ohio Museums Association Virtual Conference. Pizza Parlor In The Library?

Little Buckeye Children’s Museum has proudly announced the debut of a new traveling exhibit thanks to the generosity and support of The Shelby Foundation.

This new traveling exhibit is a pizza parlor exhibit, which opened  to the public in the children’s department of the Marvin Memorial Library in Shelby on January 22.

The Shelby Foundation Traveling Pizza Parlor Exhibit consists of a kitchen workspace, the front counter where “customers” can place their order, and a brick pizza oven. More…
