Through the end of the year, an exhibition at downtown Columbus’ Riffe Gallery will feature the work of a Mansfielder.

The Ohio Arts Council’s Riffe Gallery in collaboration with the Ohio Art Education Foundation presents a juried exhibition showcasing art educators as artists. Members of the Ohio Art Education Association divisions of Elementary, Middle, Secondary, Higher Education, Museum, Supervision Policy and Administration, and Emeritus were invited to participate. Jurors for Art Educators as Artists include Carol Stewart, Elsie Sanchez, and Michael Seiler, who have selected 68 artworks from 46 Ohio educators.

Maginness is a local artist and retired public school art teacher. She was awarded an individual Artist Fellowship Award in Crafts by the Ohio Arts Council, and her works are included in many public and private collections including those of Hallmark in Kansas City, Missouri and the collection of Olga Hirschhorn of Washington, D.C.. Maginness has also had artwork displayed and has taught at the Mansfield Art Center.

Art Educators as Artists will be on display though January 5, 2019.
