Destination Mansfield’s Efforts To Support Local Businesses Draw Attention

The hospitality industry has been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic like few others. On Friday, the United Nations World Tourism Organization released results of a survey where it was found that a staggering 96% of all tourism destinations worldwide now have travel restrictions in place. In the United States, that number stands at 92%.

Sometimes, even in the midst of anticipated difficulty, creative organizations can turn on a dime and focus on ways to fulfill their mission despite challenges.

Such is the case locally with Destination Mansfield – Richland County, and their efforts in making lemonade out of lemons has caught the attention of the media in another Ohio community. More…

Local Artists To Be Showcased At Theatre 166

Riffe Gallery Exhibition Includes Work Of Mansfield Artist

Through the end of the year, an exhibition at downtown Columbus’ Riffe Gallery will feature the work of a Mansfielder.

The Ohio Arts Council’s Riffe Gallery in collaboration with the Ohio Art Education Foundation presents a juried exhibition showcasing art educators as artists. Members of the Ohio Art Education Association divisions of Elementary, Middle, Secondary, Higher Education, Museum, Supervision Policy and Administration, and Emeritus were invited to participate. Jurors for Art Educators as Artists include Carol Stewart, Elsie Sanchez, and Michael Seiler, who have selected 68 artworks from 46 Ohio educators. Collaboration Beautifies Downtown Mansfield

Mansfield’s past has become a beautiful part of the city’s present and future in downtown Mansfield, and The Ohio State University at Mansfield played a big part in making it happen. Three historic Mansfield postcard murals that were originally created as projection backdrops for the Ohio State Mansfield Theater’s production of Our Town last fall were transformed into permanent installations. The visual artist and musician has issued her latest collection of photographs of area scenes, just in time for last-minute holiday shopping.
