On Wednesday, local media outlet Richland Source took a page from its current site and gave it a home of its own.

In the process, the new separate Ashland Source website was born.

In an introductory piece on Ashland Source (at www.ashlandsource.com), staff reporter Courtney McNaull discussed the reasons for the change and the opportunities it creates for Ashland County readers. That post can be read here.

Richland Source is a five-year old media company that provides local, independent news to north central Ohio through its home office in Idea Works on Fourth Street in downtown Mansfield. It is a member of the Local Independent Online News (“LION”) network, which includes digitally-focused community sites across the country.

Previous Richland Source coverage expansions have included Crawford Source, created in 2014, and Ashland Source, which arrived in 2016. Last year the company purchased KnoxPages in Mount Vernon.
