When the Mansfields of the world gather for the “2018 Gathering of Mansfields” this July, representatives from Mansfield, Ohio will not have far to travel.
The Daily News, a publication in Iron Mountain, Michigan, has published a story with an announcement from the “Mansfield Memories Committee” that it is hosting a get together for the world’s Mansfields from July 14 through July 21.
Mansfield Township is a township in Iron County in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. According to Wikipedia, it currently has a population of 243, likely making it the smallest unit of government worldwide with that name.Previous gatherings of Mansfields have been held in the following:

- Mansfield, Massachusetts 2004
- Mansfield, Ohio 2008

On a related note, the Mansfield Sister Cities Association is sponsoring the visit of Miss Mansfield & Sherwood Forest from England to Richland County for the Miss Ohio USA pageant. The current title holder is Bethany Wigley.
