If you’ve never been to a litfest, here’s your chance!

Richland County’s independent bookstore is serving as one of three venues for “Kleft Crisis 2018,” a weekend event presented by Chris Chronicles Press and Kleft Jaw Press (hence the name). Participating bookstores include Guide to Kulchur Books on Lorain Avenue in Cleveland, Mac’s Backs-Books On Conventry on Coventry Road in Cleveland Heights, and Main Streets Books on North Main Street in downtown Mansfield.

The local component will take place this Saturday from 2 PM to 4 PM. Presented in conjunction with the store’s Borderlands: Poetry from the Edge series, featured poets will include Jeanette Powers, Iris Applequist, Frankie Metro, and Gabriel Ricard.

Borderland’s mic-less open mic will also be available for writers with a hankering to share their work, and the event will be emceed by Mark Sebastian Jordan.

As Main Street Books’ description of the event states, “Poets, poetry appreciators, and the poetry-curious all welcome!”
