The Richland County Development Group (RCDG) is currently seeking to fill two positions that will match talent with an identified need.

First, RCDG is seeking an Economic Development Liaison to Shelby & Northern Richland County. This position has been developed in collaborative partnership with the Shelby Community Improvement Corporation.

That Corporation has worked closely with the City of Shelby and other key stakeholders to develop an Economic Development Action Plan for the Shelby community. Creating this position is a key outcome of that work to put a greater emphasis on the need for business growth and expansion in the Shelby area and all of northern Richland County, including Plymouth.

The Economic Development Liaison will lead and manage the work outlined in the Shelby Economic Development Action Plan which includes the areas of business retention & expansion, business attraction, entrepreneurship, and downtown development. The position reports to the RCDG Economic Development Director and serves as a link from Shelby to the greater Richland County economic development system. They will work with key stakeholders including business people, elected officials, public sector employees, non-profit leaders, and other members of the community to meet the goals established by the Economic Development Action Plan.

Secondly, RCDG is seeking a Workforce Development Director. This position has been developed in collaborative partnership with the Richland County Foundation and the Richland County Department of Job & Family Services.

The Workforce Development Director is an entrepreneurial individual who will lead and manage a comprehensive workforce development agenda in the Richland County area to directly solve business workforce needs. The Director will lead a coordinated program to reach out to local businesses to identify and resolve a company’s workforce challenges including recruitment, training, or other human resources challenges. The Director will partner with education and training, staffing and recruiting, public agencies, and others to facilitate solutions.
