Alaya Grose made it official this week: She will enroll at Ohio University to run track for the Bobcats.

The Tyger track star, who will receive a full-ride scholarship, signed her letter of intent to attend OU during a ceremony on the Mansfield Senior High auditorium stage.

A four-year letter winner in track, Grose placed second in the 100-meter hurdles at last Saturday’s 86th Mehock Relays. She also anchored the girls’ 4 x 200-meter relay team that placed sixth and the 4 x 100-meter relay team that finished eighth.

Her many career achievements on the track included being a state qualifier in the 4 x 100 relay as a freshman and sophomore. She placed ninth as a state qualifier in the 100-meter hurdles.

As a junior Grose was a member of the 4 x 200-meter relay tape that placed first at Mehock. As a sophomore she finished first in the Mehock 100-meter hurdles.

Ohio University  competes in NCAA Div. 1 athletics. The Bobcats are members of the Mid-American Conference which also includes Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Miami (Ohio), Northern Illinois, Toledo and Western Michigan.
