Downtown Mansfield is the place to be on the first Friday evening of each month, and April is no exception. Beginning at 5:00 PM, bring family and friends to visit dozens of downtown businesses that provide entertainment, offer specials and sales, and host unique events that you cannot find in any shopping center – all in the middle of a traditional downtown setting.

The First Friday Shop Hop is hosted by Downtown Mansfield, Inc., whose mission is “to stimulate economic development, improve the appearance and create a positive image of the downtown as a desirable place to work, live, shop and invest.”

This Friday, that entertainment will include the following opportunities:

Book Talk at Main Street Books with author/internet personality Brittany Gibbons. Gibbons’ most recent book is “The Clothes Make the Girl (Look Fat)?” Details are available here.

Little Buckeye Children’s Museum is offering both half-price admission and special guests from Buckeye Bakery created decorated cupcakes. Space is limited for this event and reservations are recommended; call 419-522-2332. More details here.

“Ball & Chain” will be playing at CityNews’ Suzi’s Smoke Room from 7 PM to 10 PM. Information is here.

Other participating venues include:

  • Salon Vivace
  • Richland Carousel Park – 5 rides for $2, wear a baseball t-shirt and get a free ride!
  • Element of Art Studio/Gallery – live entertainment and refreshments from City Garden Café
  • Tara’s Floral Expressions – live music from Ron McDonald
  • The Phoenix Brewing Company – live music from Oolong Gurus

More information on this Friday’s Shop Hop is available here on its Facebook Event page.
