This is the weekly construction update from District 3 of the Ohio Department of Transportation for Ashland, Crawford, and Richland Counties. Note that there is at least one new project in each of those counties.


ASHLAND COUNTY

State Route 39 ***UPDATE***
SR 39, east of Wally Rd. over Black Fork of the Mohican River, will have signalized, single lane closures to maintain traffic for a bridge replacement. Phase 2 of the project will begin to shift traffic so that work can continue on the eastbound side of the structure. Traffic should be completely shifted over by Tuesday, May 1; however, all work is weather dependent and is subject to changeThe project is expected to be complete June 2018.

US Route 30 ***NEW***
US 30, from SR 511 to SR 60, will have single lane closures as crews begin pavement repairs. The project will utilize speed limit signs to reduce the speed and maintain the flow of traffic. The reduced speed limit when workers are present will be 50 mph; the posted speed limit when crews are NOT working will be 60 mph. The project is expected to be complete July 2018. 

Interstate 71 ***UPDATE***
I-71, from US 250 to the Wayne County line, will have intermittent single lane closures as crews begin work as part of a resurfacing project. Nightly pavement repairs will take place from 8pm-7am. Double lane closures at night have gone into effect leaving one lane of traffic open in both directions. The project will utilize digital speed limit signs to maintain traffic flow. The posted speed limit when crews are NOT working will be 65 mph; the reduced speed limit when workers are present will be 55mph. The project is expected to be complete August 2018. 

Goon Rd. (CR 3006)
Goon Rd., in the Mohican State Park leading up to the Mohican Lodge, will have intermittent lane closures as part of a resurfacing project. Detours will be posted on State Park Roads for culvert replacements. The project is expected to be complete August 2018.

CRAWFORD COUNTY

State Route 4
SR 4, from the Marion County line to the City of Bucyrus, will be reduced to one lane of traffic for pavement repairs. Traffic will maintained with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete July 2018.

State Route 19
SR 19, between Hopley St. and S. Walnut St., will be reduced to one lane of traffic for resurfacing work. Traffic will be maintained with periodic flagging operations. Crews will begin removing asphalt at intersections and begin crack sealing. The project is expected to be complete May 2018. 

US Route 30
US 30, at its structure over SR 4, will have intermittent single lane closures on US 30 westbound and SR 4 southbound for bridge repairs. Crews will maintain one lane of traffic in each direction at all times. Please use caution while driving in the area. The project is expected to be complete May 2018.

US Route 30 ***NEW***
US 30, from Tiffin St. to Lower Leesville Rd., will have eastbound and westbound single lane closures for bridge repairs. Crews will maintain one lane of traffic in each direction at all times. Please use caution while driving in the area. The project is expected to be complete July 2018.

RICHLAND COUNTY

US Route 30 ***NEW***
US 30, between 5th Ave. and N. Trimble Rd. in the City of Mansfield, will have single lane closures for pavement repairs in the eastbound and westbound driving lanes. Motorists are advised to use caution while driving in the area as trucks will be entering and exiting the work zone. The project is expected to be complete May 2018.

US Route 30
US 30, from the Crawford County line to the Ontario Corporation Limits, will have singe lane closures in each direction while crews perform crack seal operations. All work is weather dependent. The project is expected to be complete by May 2018. 

County Road 184 (Kuhn Rd.)
Kuhn Rd, between London West Rd and Hazel Brush Rd, is closed for a bridge replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is Kuhn Rd to London West Rd, east on London West Rd to Champion Rd, north on Champion Rd to Hazel Brush Rd, west on Hazel Brush Rd to Kuhn Rd, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen April 2018.

State Route 309 ***NEW***
SR 309, between SR 181 and TR 1542 (All American Dr.), will be closed Monday, April 30 for two culvert replacements. The detour route for eastbound motorists is SR 309 to SR 61, north on SR 61 to US 30, east on US 30 to W. 4th St., east on W. 4th St. to SR 314, south on SR 314 to SR 309, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen Friday, May 4, 2018.
