Little Buckeye Children’s Museum has announced the grand-opening of their new St. Peter’s Parish Schoolhouse Exhibit.

This exhibit will open to the public on Wednesday, December 18, at 10:00 AM on the second floor of the Little Buckeye Children’s Museum (West Fourth Street, Mansfield). Make plans to come in for a first look at this Montessori-inspired exhibit remodel.

The St. Peter’s Schoolhouse Exhibit includes everything a child needs to play teacher; from new chalkboards and work spaces, to books and hands-on learning activities, this classroom is fully-stocked. Thanks to St. Peter’s, the schoolhouse received a fresh coat of paint, a new rug, and all new furniture custom built at the perfect height for a child and is completely ADA accessible.

Sometimes a child’s first day of school can be scary. In addition to all of the child development benefits that children receive by playing in our hands-on, imagination-based exhibits, Little Buckeye hopes that the exhibit will help children become more comfortable with the idea of going to school by getting familiar with how a classroom might look and what they could be doing in class.

Little Buckeye Children’s Museum partnership with St. Peter’s is just the latest in many local partnerships that help children get to know their community. For example, the museum also features exhibits such as Kingwood Center Garden, Malabar Petting Farm, and Mansfield Art Center Gallery Wall.
