If you still need to purchase gifts for the holidays, look no further than local Richland County businesses. This is not just a way to find the perfect gift, but also to support your local economy. There are far too many businesses and services to include all of them, but here are a few of our favorites:

Handmade: You may not have time to craft your own gifts if your December calendar is getting full, but you could make time to visit the Holiday Fine Arts Fair at Main Street Books. This year, handmade items are on sale from over 15 local artists in a wide variety of styles and mediums. All items are under $100. The Fair runs through December 28; Main Street Books is at 104 North Main Street.

Local Pride: Several local businesses have their own swag for sale, but the “Made in the (419)” brand is a unique way to show your love for where you live. Visit the Field Market on Main Street in downtown Mansfield to purchase a shirt or other “Made in the (419)” item; find them online at Facebook.com/madeinthe419.

History: The Mansfield Memorial Museum is selling 2020 calendars, each page featuring a historic photo of the city. The calendars are $15 each and benefit the museum, which does not charge an admission fee and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that relies on financial support to keep its doors open. Calendars are available at several area locations including Mechanics Bank (downtown, Cook Road and Park Avenue West), Main Street Books (downtown Mansfield) and Holly’s Book Rack (Appleseed Shopping Center). The museum is now closed for the winter season, and is scheduled to reopen in March 2020.

Discover Richland Family Deal: This Family Package Deal will provide savings to 4 of local family destinations; it’s like giving the gift of fun. The deal includes family membership to Little Buckeye Children’s Museum, family membership to Kingwood Center Gardens, Owl level membership to Ohio Bird Sanctuary, and 12 bonus tickets to Richland Carrousel Park. It’s a $212 value for only $169, and can be purchased at any member location or online here.

Happy shopping!
