The following news release was shared by the Mansfield Division of Police late on Friday afternoon concerning Richland County’s move to Level 3::
The Mansfield Division of Police wants to remind the community that effective at 6:00 PM this evening, masks or facial coverings are required for everyone when they are out in public. We want to encourage the community to be mindful of the mandate and wear a mask or face covering. While the Mansfield Division of Police can enforce the mandate, it is our hope that the community will voluntarily comply with the public health order as enforcement is the last option.
We also want to remind the community, please do not call the Police Department’s non-emergency phone line to report non-compliance with the mask mandate. Our Public Safety Communications Center is extremely busy and we cannot be inundated with these additional calls.
‘To reduce this increase in calls, we have set up a hotline to report issues of this nature and that number is 419-755-9855. It is important to note that this is only for leaving a message, the phone line will not be staffed. Please continue to call 911 for emergencies and 416-522-1234 for all other non-emergencies concerning the Division of Police. These messages will be checked on a daily basis and handled accordingly.
