The Richland County Board of Elections has shared updates on important dates and links concerning voting in the upcoming May 4 Primary Election.
Register to Vote: The deadline to register to vote or change your address and/or name in the voter registration system for the May Primary/Special Election is Monday, April 5. The Board of Elections office will be open that evening until 9:00 P.M. Note that not all precincts will be open for this Election.

Locally, the next opportunity to vote is the March 17 Primary Election, which includes a handful of local issues to be voted on.
Voting includes many state-level positions such as Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court, local positions including Richland County judges, and even delegates to the national conventions. This class for new workers has been scheduled for Wednesday evening February 26 at 6:00 PM at the Longview Center, 1495 W. Longview Avenue in the Upper Level Classroom. The Richland County Board of Elections has announced the following changes to polling locations commencing with the November 5 General Election. These changes were approved at the Board of Elections’ meeting of August 13 of this year.
These changes were necessary for a variety of reasons, including meeting Federal ADA requirements for polling place accessibility, our long-term goal of creating “Regional” Vote Centers to save tax-payers’ funds, and in one instance, due to the fact that the previous voting location was on lockdown 24/7 and made the accessibility for voters a problem.
