A meeting of the Richland County Board of Elections on Friday resulted in the slate of primary candidates being set for elected positions across the county.

In Mansfield, the petition for Sherry Vaught to be a candidate for Mayor on the Democratic ballot was certified. Barring the entry of any write-candidates in either the Democrat or Republic, Vaught will face the winner of the Republican Primary between Jim Holsinger, Jodie Perry, Linn Steward, and Stephanie Zader.

Council candidates’ petitions that had not been withdrawn were all certified.

You can expect to see campaigning begin soon, as early voting begins on April 4. The early registration deadline is the day before, April 3.

1812Blockhouse will be sharing information on other races tomorrow afternoon, and will be creating a candidates’ guide for voters in the coming weeks.
