Richland Area Chamber Announces Award Finalists and Winners

The Richland Area Chamber of Commerce surprised a handful of businesses on Friday, November 1, with in-person notifications that those organizations were in the running for Small Business of the Year. Already announced as a winner for the Non-Profit category is Little Buckeye Children’s Museum. The Museum has recently been in the news with work continuing on their new location, 174 Park Avenue West in Mansfield, which they anticipate moving into in 2021 as the Imagination District takes shape in downtown Mansfield. Easy To Imagine The Future Of The Imagination District

On Wednesday, the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce held a unique ribbon-cutting event, one marking the demolition of a downtown structure. The Rainbow Mortgage building in downtown Mansfield is being removed to make way for the new Imagination District. The vision of Mike Miller, of the Renaissance Theatre, and Fred Boll, of Little Buckeye Children’s Museum, the Imagination District will bring a dedicated area for arts, education and beauty in downtown Mansfield. Shaw & Ott Celebrates Expansion

A ribbon-cutting was held on Tuesday morning at Shaw & Ott Medical, as the family-owned business celebrated the expansion of its showroom on Lexington Avenue in Mansfield. About 50 years ago they evolved from the original corner pharmacy into a home health care business, and now the new showroom space will give Shaw & Ott a better opportunity to showcase the products and home modifications it offers. Chamber To Host Educational Cyber-Security Luncheon

The Richland Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a luncheon on Friday, November 8 at the Life Celebration Reception Center (129 South Main Street, Mansfield) focusing on cyber security threats businesses may face. There is an increasing danger of cyber-attacks directed towards businesses, especially those in the small to mid-size and government sectors. This presentation, presented by local technology professionals from ES Consulting, will provide a better understanding of those threats, why businesses need to be secure, and what steps businesses need to take; all from the high-level perspective. Chamber Workforce Development Director Completes Fellowship

A Rose By Any Other Name: A Mansfield Landmark Gets A “New” History

Shakespeare penned, “What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet,” conveying the idea that things which are intrinsically beautiful and meaningful could be called anything and still retain their character. Such might be the case this week at the northwest corner of Third and Mulberry Streets in downtown Mansfield. What was long assumed to be the history of the current home of the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce has a significant twist, based on brand-new research published on Thursday by the Richland County Historical Society and Oak Hill Cottage. With that information, the Dr. James W. Craig House might properly have a new surname added to its moniker. Read More

Chamber Announces ATHENA Award Finalists

The Richland Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that three local women have been selected as finalists for the 2018 ATHENA Award in Richland County.  The Award, which is being sponsored by Richland Bank, will be handed out at the Chamber & Richland Community Development Group (RCDG) Annual Meeting & Dinner on January 25.
