As Memorial Day weekend is the ceremonial, albeit unofficial start of summer, we thought we’d take a look ahead at what the next three months will bring at various attractions in the Mansfield area. First up is Malabar Farm State Park, where here is what is on offer:

June Night Haunt – June 24 from 8:00 PM to Midnight. Dare to Explore the “normal to paranormal” while exploring murders, cemeteries and haunted houses. End the night with hot dogs and s’mores while sharing stories around the campfire. Pre-Registration is Required. $30 per person, and is not recommended for ages 13 and under.

Liberty Barn Dance – July 1 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Continuing a Bromfield tradition, Square & Line Dancing with live music and caller. Beginners are welcome! $1.00 Donation Requested at the door for ages 12+.

July Night Haunt – July 29 from 8:00 PM to Midnight – see June 24 description above.

“Sunday Drive” Car Show – July 30 from Noon to 4:00 PM. Guests will travel back to a bygone era with a Sunday Drive to the park to enjoy the cars, music and some old fashioned foods! Entrance Fee for those entering a car only, otherwise FREE to the Public.

Kids Farm Fun Day & Fishing Derby – August 5 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Children have a chance to learn about agriculture with Hands-On activities and Children’s games from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and a fishing derby from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM (Some fishing poles and bait provided). FREE

Summer Barn Dance — August 5 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Continuing a Bromfield tradition, Square & Line Dancing with live music and caller. Beginners are welcome! $1.00 Donation Requested at the door for ages 12+.

Regular tours of the Farm and the “Big House” continue seven days a week throughout the summer. As a treat and as a “preview of coming attractions,” here is a short video of scenery around Malabar’s Mount Jeez, set to music.
