“Hemlock Falls: History and Lore” walkers will visit the falls and nearby rock formations in a two-hour, morning walk, led and narrated by Alan Wigton of the Richland County Historical Society. The walk will take place on Saturday, April 20 from 10 AM to 12 Noon.
“This romantic destination drew pioneers, as well as earlier native inhabitants, for recreation and retreat since the dawn of time, as they used to say. We will take part in that legacy and reflect on what’s been written and handed down about this idyllic corner of our County,” Wigton explains.

This 1-2 miles walk will follow the Clear Fork Valley Scenic Trail, including the Hemlock Falls spur trail. Dress for the weather and wear shoes suitable for a footpath in the woods.

This free event is open to the public. Please arrive by 10 AM, as the gates will be closed once the walk begins.

This is a walk through woods with uneven walking surfaces over hilly terrain. The walk is rated as moderate, although the pace will be conversational (1 to 2 miles per hour). It should take about two hours to traverse the one to two mile trek.

Meet at the First Congregational Church Camp on Bunkerhill North Road, Worthington Twp. (.9 mile south of S.R. 95). A hiking sign will be posted at the entrance, follow the gravel driveway to the parking area near the picnic shelter (less than ½ mile). Ride sharing is encouraged.
