OSUM Play To Feature First-Time Student Director

Anyssa Hanna first fell in love with the theatre when she was only five years old. She began acting in first grade in Cleveland. Now, as a freshman social work student at The Ohio State University at Mansfield, she will be directing her first play, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf by Ntozake Shange. “The play is about seven African American women and each one of them has a struggle in their life,” Hanna explains. “It discusses how each one of the women got through their problems by talking and supporting one another.” Read More

She has been chosen to participate in the 2019 Student Exhibition beginning Tuesday, April 2 through April 16 at the Pearl Conard Gallery located in Ovalwood Hall. OSUM Goes LED

The Ohio State University at Mansfield will receive more than $80,000 in grant funding from the Ohio State Sustainability Fund (OSSF) to purchase and install LED outdoor lighting fixtures across the Mansfield campus. Nearly 150 new fixtures will be installed along all campus roadways and in the parking lots. The funding was approved by the Office of Energy and Environment. Read More

Ohio State Mansfield To Continue Digital Flagship Initiative

When Trustees of The Ohio State University recently met in Columbus, they voted to double down on a program that saw students at the Mansfield campus receive technology at the start of their collegiate experience. As we shared in a March 28, 2018 post entitled, “OSU Mansfield First-Years To Be Outfitted With Tech,” first-year students this past autumn were to be given a free iPad package that includes the iPad Pro, smart keyboard, case, Apple pencil, Apple Care+ and a suite of applications to enhance their learning experience. Joi and James Davis’ love story didn’t begin as Buckeyes, but their bond has grown stronger as they’ve gone through their Buckeye journey together. The couple first met at a church youth ministry camp in Zanesville, Ohio. “He handed me a piece of paper with his name, phone number, and address on it. I kept it for a long time after,” Joi grins. “I had just graduated from high school so I was getting ready for college.
