Fifteen Mansfielders flew to Austin, Texas on Thursday evening as the first step in a year-long look at re-imaging downtown Mansfield.

The visit to South by Southwest Interactive (often referred to as SXSW) is being funded by a grant from the Richland County Foundation (Richland Source story here). It’s an intriguing way to start such a process, one which might actually be called disruptive. In our vocabulary, mind you, “disruptive” is a strong compliment.

We wish our fellow north central Ohioans a safe journey to and from, and hope and trust they bring back some great ideas.

You can follow along with their journey on our special Mansfield in Austin page, where we are capturing and re-sharing tweets, Instagram pics, and Facebook posts from their trip. This will be up and running through their scheduled return early next week.

To check on their progress, click on the “Mansfield in Austin” link in our top menu, or in the top drop down menu on tablet and mobile (the three bars on the top right of the home page). Or better yet – you can visit it right here.

Send us your news — of an announcement, event,
club news, fundraiser – whatever! It’s easy to do online.
