A word to the wise: detours will be in place this summer as an important bridge replacement project in southern Richland County takes place. Awareness and a little bit of planning should result in little impact on your summer tourism experiences.

The State Route 95 Bridge Replacement Project has an estimated start date of June 3 and an estimated end date of August 30. A portion of SR 95 will be closed during the project and traffic rerouted. Signs will be posted weeks in advance warning motorists that the road will be closed with the official date of the closure and the number of days the closure will last (e.g. SR 95 will be closed 06-03 for 60 days).

The Ohio Department of Transportation will send out Public Information Releases a week prior to the closure. The closure notice will be sent out via email, posted on their social media pages (Twitter and Facebook), listed in their weekly construction report, posted to their website, and updated on the OHGO app.

The detour route for this project is as follows: June 3 thru August 30, motorists traveling southbound on SR 95 to SR 39 will detour northwest on SR 39 to SR 603, then go south on SR 603 to SR 95. The detour is reversed for northbound motorists.

Please note that SR 95 will be open from the SR 603 side for access into the Pleasant Hill Lake campground, marina, beach and all-day use areas off SR 95 and the Public Boat launch on Covert Rd.

Affected Tourism Destinations

This detour may also affect travel to the following destinations. Please check your route for closings and make plans accordingly.
