Richland County’s United Way has met its yearly funding goal for the year.

The organization shared at its annual dinner this week held at The Blueberry Patch 1285 Winery that it had reached its $1.4 million goal and that s raised  will benefit their 14 partner agencies as well as thousands of county residents. The United Way also highlighted their top 25 businesses, all of which contributed to the campaign’s success.

In fact, United Way of Richland County raised $1,405,003.62 in total, or 100.4 percent of its $1.4 million goal, according to Executive Dan Varn, 

During the campaign, Graham Chevroet partnered with United Way to raffle off a 2022 Chevy Trailblazer, with only 1,000 tickets sold. The car was won by mother of four Shawauna Smith.

There was a new #1 fundraising business this year for United Way — The Gorman Rupp Company. Other top businesses included Mechanics Bank, Midwest Automotive Trucking, Park National Bank, and Tayler Metal.
