The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Richland County is gearing up for its 42nd annual Beat Michigan — Buckeye Bash. The event is set to take place at the Richland County Fairgrounds, specifically in the youth hall located at 750 N. Home Rd., Mansfield. The doors will swing open at 5:15 PM on Monday, November 13, inviting Buckeye fans to an evening filled with tradition, entertainment, and community spirit.

What’s on the Menu?

Attendees won’t have to wait long to dive into the festivities. A homemade meal will be served promptly from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, offering a hearty start to an evening dedicated to all things Buckeye. The cost per ticket is $30, which includes the meal. Those interested in attending can purchase tickets by contacting Judy Villard Overocker at the OSU Extension office, located at 1495 W. Longview Avenue, Suite 206, Mansfield, or by calling 419-747-8755.

A Walk Down Memory Lane with Jim Tressel

The night’s featured speaker is none other than former head football coach Jim Tressel. He will take the stage to share cherished memories of Beat Michigan Week and reflect on his illustrious career as head coach. Tressel’s insights are sure to evoke nostalgia and stir the Buckeye spirit among fans young and old.

More Than Just a Pep Rally

But the Buckeye Bash is not just about speeches and meals. The Ohio State University Marching Band will make a triumphant return, filling the hall with the iconic sounds of Buckeye music. The event will also feature live and silent auctions of OSU items, goodie bags priced at $10, $15, and $20, Buckeye trivia, and a 50:50 drawing. Tables can be reserved for groups of eight, but seating is limited, so early ticket purchase is advised.

Giving Back to the Buckeye Community

The Buckeye Bash serves as the major fundraising event for the OSU Alumni Club’s scholarship funds and club outreach initiatives. By participating in or donating to this community event, attendees have the opportunity to “pay it forward” and support future Buckeyes. Donors at select levels will even receive a set amount of complimentary admission tickets and additional perks.

Mark your calendars and get your tickets; this is one Buckeye Bash you won’t want to miss!
