This week, media representatives from around the country will join in Philadelphia for the 2016 American Society of News Editors (ASNE) News Leadership Conference. Attendees will participate in workshops, seminars, and other events designed to share the best of new ideas in 21st century journalism.
Included among those presenting will be a Mansfield-based media publisher. Jay Allred, publisher of Richland Source, will be part of a panel presentation on Monday morning entitled “Startups and Reboots.” According to the conference website, scheduled to join Allred will be Sybril Brown, a journalist and professor from Belmont University; John Harris, co-founder and publisher of the noted website POLTICO; Kevin Merida, Senior VP and Editor-in-Chief of The Undefeated; and Sharon Waxman, CEO/founder of The Wrap.
Others speaking at the event include CEO of The Center for Investigative Reporting; the Executive Editor of The Washington Post; and two Executive Editors for The Assocaited Press, including Marty Baron, the former head of the Boston Globe and profiled in the movie, “Spotlight.”
