It’s time to get out those rock collections and see what’s missing!
The Richland Lithic and Lapidary Society (can you quickly say that name three times?) will be holding its Gem, Mineral, Jewelry, Bead, & Fossil Show on June 8 and 9 at the Richland County Fairgrounds’ Arts and Crafts Building.Included will be 12 quality dealers, as well as demonstrations, hourly door prizes, gold panning, and a silent auction which will be held both days.
This year’s theme is “Fabulous Flourites,” and artistic expressions will be found at the show.
Show hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, and 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Sunday. Adult admission is $5, with reduced prices for seniors and children. Parking is free.
According to its website, the purpose of the Richland Lithic and Lapidary Society is to “create an interest in the study of the earth sciences and all lapidary arts. We also offer the opportunity to share knowledge and working techniques with others.” Regular meetings are held at the Gorman Nature Center on the first Monday of the month, and field trips are held during the year.
