Is it possible to have too much of a good thing?

In the case of Ohio’s premier ski resort, the answer this week was… yes.

Normally, reports of impending snowfall are welcomed at Snow Trails as indicators that good skiing is ahead. In order to ski, however, visitors have to be able to reach the facility. When Winter Storm Landon triggered a Level Three Snow Emergency for several hours, however, that wasn’t the case.

For the first time in years, Snow Trails closed during that period of time.

On Friday afternoon, the Level returned to a Two and preparations were made to reopen. On Saturday, skiers were treated to a magnificent sight – ten inches of new natural snow on top of the pre-storm base.

The latest Snow Report from Snow Trails, posted Saturday morning, shows that all lifts and lines are now open. And, as the site proclaims, “We are open today with Normal Hours for those with Bookings to join us for the fun! The skiing and snowboarding is going to be amazing with all the new snow!”
