It’s not every year that a north central Ohio football squad makes the state final four by winning its regional final contest. In fact, it rarely happens.

That makes this year doubly special, as two Richland County teams are playing state semifinal games this week. Here are the current details; we will be updating this information as the playoff dates near and this post will remain on the 1812Blockhouse main page.

MANSFIELD SENIOR (12-1) versus AURORA (13-0)

  • When and Where: Friday, November 29 at 7 PM at Nordonia High School in Macedonia
  • Ticket information: From Mansfield City Schools: Presale tickets for Friday’s playoff game will be sold ONLY online at OHSAA.org/tickets, Division III. There will be NO ticket sales from the Senior High Athletic Office. Presale tickets are $8. Admission at the gate will be $10.
  • Broadcast: Live broadcast on WMAN-FM and the @iHeartRadio app
  • Follow: The Tygers on Twitter at: @TYger_Football – and follow the score on Friday via Scorestream on 1812Blockhouse
  • Send-Off: The team bus will be leaving Mansfield Senior on Friday via police escort. While the Mansfield Police Department has been notified, please remember that this is holiday time for first responders. The police escort will be leaving Arlin Field at 3 PM and travel east on West Fourth to North Diamond Street, north on North Diamond and then east onto Longview before merging onto and traveling to Macedonia via US30.

LUCAS (12-2) versus CANAL WINCHESTER HARVEST PREP (12-1)

  • When and Where: Saturday, November 30 at 7PM at Columbus DeSales
  • Ticket information: Presale tickets are available at OHSAA.org/tickets, Division VII, after 10 AM on Monday.
  • Broadcast: Live broadcast on WMAN-FM and the @iHeartRadio app
  • Follow: Follow the score on Saturday via Scorestream on 1812Blockhouse
  • Send-Off: The team bus will be leaving Lucas at 3:45 PM and head west to reach I-71. Fans are invited to line Main Street for the send-off.
  • Open Practice: The Lucas Cubs will be holding an open practice/food drive for alumni and the community on Thanksgiving morning from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM. The Lucas Athletic Booster Club will have the concession stand open and will be selling hot chocolate, coffee, and donuts. Please bring non-perishable items for the Lucas Food Pantry.
