Funds Sought For Tyger To Make Big 10 Visits

A GoFundMe campaign is underway to provide funds for a Mansfield Senior High School football standout and his coach to visit two Big Ten schools.

ODNR Talks Open Burning Precautions

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) reminds Ohioans to take precautions while burning debris this spring and to know the state’s outdoor burning regulations. Ohio law states outdoor debris burning is prohibited from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. during March, April and May. Burning is limited in the spring due to the abundance of dry fuel on the ground. Winds can make a seemingly safe fire burn more intensely and escape control. More…

County Water Quality Grants Available

Have an idea on how to improve the water quality in your community? Share your idea with the Richland County Farm Bureau so it can apply for a water quality grant.

The Ohio Farm Bureau is offering $150,000 in county water quality grants as part of its comprehensive Water Quality Action Plan. In order to receive a grant, a local match contribution (cash or in-kind) to the project equal to at least 100 percent of the amount requested in OFBF funds must be arranged. At least 50 percent of the matching funds must come from project partners outside of Farm Bureau. More…

Foundation Awards Over $1.3 Million To Area Nonprofits

The Richland County Foundation Board of Trustees approved grants totaling $1,382,549 during its February meeting.

A grant was awarded from the unrestricted/community fund to the Richland Community Development Group for its Be Focal Buy Local, Bellville Beautification and Development and Mansfield Area Beautification Community Sectors.    More…
