What better way to dip your toe into the holiday season than with a rip roaring musical version of Charles Dickens’ classic tale?

Such is your opportunity next weekend as the A Christmas Carol: The Musical comes to the Renaissance Theatre.

As the theatre’s promotional material for the performance shares, “Broadway heavy hitters Alan Menken (Disney’s Beauty And The Beast, Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Little Shop Of Horrors) and Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Seussical, Once On This Island) breathe fantastic new life into Dickens’ classic tale of A Christmas Carol.

Ebenezer Scrooge is a prosperous curmudgeon who believes personal wealth is far more valuable than the happiness and comfort of others. With an infuriated “Bah! Humbug!” Scrooge summates his feelings of Christmas tidings and charitable giving, but he’s forced to face his selfish ways when three ghosts on Christmas Eve lead him through his Past, Present, & Future. Thanks to their guidance, Scrooge recognizes his faults and greets Christmas morning with a cheerful “Happy Christmas” before spending the day reconnecting and sharing love with those that mean the most to him.”

Performances for the musical are on Saturdays, November 12 and November 19 at 8:00 PM, and on Sundays, November 13 and November 20 at 2:30 PM. Presented as a part of the Richland Bank Broadway Series, ticket prices are as follows (click here to purchase online): Orch/Mezz Price: $35.00 — Section A Price: $31.00 — Section B Price: $28.00 — The $15 Club: $15.00
