Public Hearing To Be Held On New Private Water System Fees

The Ohio Department of Health has added two new fee categories for Private Water Systems; these categories became effective on January 1. Richland Public Health has scheduled a hearing to provide the public with an opportunity to ask questions or make comments on the new fees. Each new fee is $100. Ohio’s private water systems program regulates wells, springs, rain water cisterns, hauled water storage tanks and ponds that provide potable water to fewer than 25 people per day and have fewer than 15 service connections. County Water Quality Grants Available

Have an idea on how to improve the water quality in your community? Share your idea with the Richland County Farm Bureau so it can apply for a water quality grant. The Ohio Farm Bureau is offering $150,000 in county water quality grants as part of its comprehensive Water Quality Action Plan. In order to receive a grant, a local match contribution (cash or in-kind) to the project equal to at least 100 percent of the amount requested in OFBF funds must be arranged. At least 50 percent of the matching funds must come from project partners outside of Farm Bureau. Read More
