Telecommunicator Lewanda Jefferson (has) announced her retirement from the Mansfield Division of Police effective August 1.
Lewanda was hired by the Mansfield Fire Department May 13, 1989 as a Dispatcher and was transferred to the Public Safety Communications Center as a Telecommunicator in May of 1991, when public safety dispatching combined with 9-1-1 to form one communications center. More…
We have become accustomed to the assumption that we can call 911 and receive assistance for whatever emergency necessitated the call. Part of this process is, of course, the operator who answers the call and dispatches the police, fire or medical assistance that is needed.
We should take a moment to thank those people for the service they provide. Mansfield City Council did just that as they recognized telecommunicator Suzanne P. Meister at their February 4 meeting. More…
