Those centers of learning include two community colleges, including one here in Richland County. North Central State College and Marion Technical College provide excellent learning opportunities which are also affordable.

Now, that excellence has been recognized with the heads of both of those institutions being nominated for the CEO of the Year Award from the American Association of Community Colleges.

This award is party of the 2023 Awards of Excellence to be made by the AACC, awards which underscore the association’s priorities and brings national visibility to promising practices among its member colleges.

Diab

Nominated are Dr. Dorey Diab, President of NCSC, and Ryan McCall, President of Marion Technical College. The other nominations are from Ohio. Michigan, and Arizona.

Diab has served as President since 2013. He previously served as Vice president of academic affairs at Rhodes State College and provost at Stark State College.

Winners will be announced at the Awards of Excellence Gala on April 3 in Denver. A complete list of the finalists for the Awards of Excellence can be found at ccdaily.com.
