The United Way of Richland County is hosting their Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday, March 8 Ed Pickens’ Café on Main. The event will kick-off at 5 PM for a social hour with the dinner and awards starting at 6 PM.

The Annual Dinner is held each year to recognize campaign achievements and honor volunteer leadership. The event will recognize United Way volunteers, contributors, workplace partners and partner agency programs dedicated to addressing the needs of those in Richland County. “We are excited to recognize so many great companies and individuals for all they did in support of the community,” stated Dan Varn, United Way’s Executive Director.

We also ask everyone attending to consider supporting our Big Read Bookshelf initiative by bringing a new or gently used book for children aged birth to third grade. Our Big Red Book project places bright red bookshelves in the community where families and young children visit. The bookshelves are fully stocked with new or gently used books that have been donated by community members. Children are invited to take a book home to keep – read, learn and share!

United Way of Richland County is a local organization led by local people; Members of the Board of Directors and Allocation members are volunteers. The United Way of Richland County fights for the Health, Education, and Financial Stability of every person in our Community.
