Are you a rock hound?

This Saturday, May 13, you can learn all about fossils, minerals, rocks, and geology as Gorman Nature Center presents GNC Rock & Fossil Day.

From 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, enjoy the opportunity to visit displays filled with geological wonders. Bring your own rocks and fossils for identification, and visit the shop for rock-themed items to purchase. Free items will be available for kids.

At 12:00 noon, Tim Kottyan will make a presentation on Fossil Ammonites. Ammonites, which may well be the best-known fossils, are an extinct group of marine mollusc animals with spiral shells.

The event is sponsored by the Richland County Park District and the Richland Lithic and Lapidary Society.
