Looking for an interesting family event to attend this weekend? If so, why not come to the Gorman Nature Center on Saturday for the Ninth Annual Richland County Park District Rock & Fossil Day.

During this free event, experience the following:

  • Bring your rocks and fossils for identification by local experts.
  • Visit all of the tables and displays filled with geological wonders.
  • If the weather holds, we will conduct a fossil walk in the creek that runs through the Center property (so bring wading boots or sandals and prepare to get wet).
  • Visit the fluorescent mineral booth.
  • Free items for the kids
  • Vendors will have rocks, minerals, and more for purchase.

The Rock & Fossil Day will take place on Saturday, May 14 from 11 AM to 3:00 PM, with the fossil hike taking place at 1:00 P.M..

Co-sponsors are the Richland County Park District and the Mid Ohio Mineral & Fossil Club. Gorman Nature Center is at 2295 Lexington Avenue in Mansfield.
