There’s something about watching a movie outdoors.

For those of a certain age, the drive-in movie theatre provided that type of experience (and fortunately some still exist). This summer, however, you can watch film under the stars in the Imagination District in downtown Mansfield.

POP! Pictures on the Plaza features free, family friendly activities as well as an outdoor movie. The venue is the grassy area known as the Plaza situated between the Renaissance Theatre and Theatre 166.

Movies to be shown include:

June 8 – Hook

July 13 – Wreck it Ralph

August 10 – Finding Nemo

The Little Buckeye Children’s Museum will set up its Imagination Stations, the library will bring its bookmobile and host a craft, Nationwide Children’s Hospital will set up an obstacle course, and Idea Works will line up at least one food truck per movie.

These events begin at 7:30 PM and the movie begins at 8:30 PM. In case of inclement weather, the movie will be shown inside the Ren.

These events are made possible by The Richland County Foundation Mansfield Rising project, with support from the Renaissance Theatre, Little Buckeye Children’s Museum, Mansfield Richland County Public Library, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Idea Works, and The Imagination District.
