Improvements to roads within Mohican-Memorial State Forest and Mohican State Park north of State Route 97 have been announced for this spring, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).

Mohican-Memorial State Forest and Mohican State Park are popular for visitors, and the road repairs will provide improved access to the gorge overlook, fire tower, covered bridge, campgrounds and recreation trails.

Scheduled to begin the week of March 14, improvement work and closures will occur on the section of ODNR Road 58 from State Route 97 down to the covered bridge. Intermittent closures on this stretch will occur during the week of March 14. Beginning the week of March 20 through May 26, this section of ODNR Road 58 (from State Route 97 down to the covered bridge) will be completely closed for repairs.

Details about current roadwork and closures will be posted on the ODNR website at forestry.ohiodnr.gov.
