An inspiring and essential community event, the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is not just a walk in the park. It’s a step towards the future — a future without Alzheimer’s. In North Central Ohio, the 2023 Walk invites you to be part of a worldwide movement that seeks a cure and better care for those affected by this disease. Here’s how you can join the effort.

How to Participate

1. Register for Your Local Walk

Starting or joining a team is easy, and while there’s no registration fee, every participant is encouraged to raise funds for the cause. Whether you’re an individual or planning to walk with friends or family, registration is the first step towards making a difference.

2. Start Fundraising

Don’t worry if you’ve never fundraised before; the Alzheimer’s Association will provide you with all the tips and coaching you need. It’s an opportunity to get creative, spread the word, and work together to make an impact.

3. Join on Walk Day

On September 16, gather at the Health Science Building/North Central State College in Mansfield for a day filled with community spirit. Check in starts at 9:00 AM, with the Opening and Promise Garden Ceremony at 10:00 AM. The route is up to 2 miles, with a shorter option available for those who prefer it.

Key Information and FAQs

  • Funds Allocation: All funds support the Alzheimer’s Association in their care, support, and research efforts. Donations are tax-deductible.
  • Registration: Every participant, including children, must register. Participants who raise at least $100 will receive an official T-shirt.
  • Event Specifics: Strollers are allowed, but skateboards, bicycles, and inline skates are discouraged. Weather permitting, the event will proceed as planned, rain or shine.
  • Volunteers Needed: From set-up to clean-up, volunteers play a crucial role in making the Walk a success. If you’re interested in volunteering, visit the event’s volunteer page for more information.

A Step Towards a Cure

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is more than a fundraising event; it’s a symbol of hope and commitment to a world without this devastating disease. Whether you walk, donate, or volunteer, your participation makes a difference.
