The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging (AAA5) is thrilled to announce an upcoming Lunch and Learn event designed to encourage community members to sign up for the Wellness Coach volunteer program. This engaging event will take place on Friday, July 19, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Hawkins Conference Center, located at 2131 Park Avenue West in Ontario. All attendees will enjoy a complimentary lunch while learning about the numerous benefits of volunteering for AAA5’s wellness classes. Whether you are passionate about teaching, public speaking, health, and wellness, or simply want to make a positive impact in your community, this event is perfect for you!

Event Highlights and Opportunities

Keynote Presentation: The Benefits of Volunteering

The Lunch and Learn session will feature a compelling presentation by Emily Bailey, RD, CSSC, LD, NASM, and AccelWELL coach. Emily will share insights into the personal and community benefits of volunteering, emphasizing the value of contributing time and expertise to improve the lives of older adults.

Firsthand Volunteer Experiences

Attendees will also have the chance to hear from a current AAA5 volunteer. This segment will provide real-life experiences and stories, offering a genuine perspective on the fulfilling nature of the Wellness Coach volunteer program.

Informational Sessions on Wellness Classes

The event will provide detailed information about the various wellness classes AAA5 offers, including:

  • Active Living Every Day
  • Diabetes Empowerment Education Program
  • Matter of Balance
  • Tai Chi
  • Stepping On

Participants will learn how these programs benefit older adults and the critical role volunteers play in delivering these classes.
