Charles Mill Lake is gearing up for an exciting Red, White & Blue Celebration from July 4 to July 7. This multi-day event promises a variety of activities for all ages, from water games and carnival fun to a thrilling catfish tournament and spectacular fireworks display. Here’s a rundown of the festivities:

July 4: Fun and Games for Everyone 🎉

Kid’s Water Games – 1:00 PM 💦 Children aged 6 to 12 can dive into fun at the Eagle Point pool. Activities include swimming through hoops, duck pushing, and riding noodles.

Carnival Games – 3:00 PM 🎪 Head over to the Messerly Recreation Center for carnival games where participants can win prizes. Tickets are $3 for 10, and it’s a cash-only event.

Traveling Program and Craft – 5:00 PM 🚗🎨 Watch for the program staff as they travel through campsites, handing out event information and fun crafts for kids.

KENO Night – 7:30 PM 🎲 Join the fun at the Messerly Recreation Center for Charles Mill Keno, a game similar to BINGO with candy-themed prizes.

July 5: Socials and Competitions 🏆

Coffee and Donuts Social – 10:30 AM ☕🍩 Enjoy a morning chat with fellow campers over coffee and donuts at the Messerly Recreation Center. Donations are accepted, and children must be accompanied by an adult.

T-shirt Tie Dye – 2:00 PM 👕🌈 Create a colorful masterpiece on a t-shirt at the Messerly Recreation Center. Shirts are $10 each, cash only, and sizes are first come, first served.

American Golf Cart Parade – 4:00 PM 🇺🇸🛺 Show your patriotic spirit by decorating your golf cart and joining the parade through the campgrounds. Prizes will be awarded for creativity.

Catfish Tournament – 5:00 PM 🎣 Anglers can compete in the catfish tournament starting at the Ohio 430 public launch ramp. Registration begins at 4:30 PM, and fees are $15 per two-person team, $8 per individual, and $5 for the Big Catfish Contest.

Family BINGO – 7:30 PM 🧩 Enjoy a family-friendly BINGO game with a Red, White, and Blue theme at the Messerly Recreation Center.

Glow Night Parade – 9:00 PM 🌟 Put on your glow stick accessories and meet at Eagle Point Shelter for a glowing parade around the circle.

July 6: Crafts and Games 🎨🏅

Patriotic Craft for Adults – 11:00 AM 🖌️ Create a red, white, and blue paver or clay pot with light at the Messerly Recreation Center. Cost is $10 per person, and registration is required at MWCD.

Patriotic Craft for Kids – 1:30 PM 🎨 Kids can join in the patriotic fun with crafts at the Eagle Point pool area.

Adult Cornhole Contest – 3:00 PM 🌽 Grab a partner and compete in the cornhole contest at the Main Camp cornhole area by the bocce ball courts. The entry fee is $5 per team.

Beach Game Time – 6:00 PM 🏖️ Participate in Musical Ice Chair at the beach, and enjoy glow-in-the-dark items and food from Tay’s Concession.

LIVE Music: The Blue Limestone Project – 7:00 PM 🎸 Enjoy live music at the beach, setting the stage for a festive evening.

Fireworks Over the Lake – 10:00 PM 🎇 Cap off the day with a stunning fireworks display over the lake. Fireworks start at dusk and can be viewed from a boat or on land near the swim beach.

July 7: Closing with Reflection 🙏

Non-denominational Church Service – 10:15 AM ⛪ Conclude the celebration with a church service at the Messerly Recreation Center, welcoming all to join.
