Avita Health System is ready to open its newest facility in Richland County.

According to a social media post, the clinic in the 24 East Whitney Street building will be the site of a ribbon cutting and open house on Monday, January 29 at 4:00 PM. Refreshments, including cake from Marigold Bakery, will be offered.

In October of last year, Avita announced the purchase of the brick building, which recently housed a provider clinic. At the time, officials noted that the location would help add to healthcare services offered in northern Richland County.

“The Shelby community has lost a lot of health care services, including the recent closing of the Shelby Hospital OB unit. I am happy that Avita will be able to provident convenient access to health care services to this area in addition to bringing new jobs to Shelby,” stated Jerry Morasko, President/CEO of Avita Health System.

Avita Health System operates three not-for-profit hospitals (Galion, Bucyrus, and Ontario) in addition to two walk-in clinics (Ontario and Bellville), and two Level II Cath Labs (Galion and Ontario). The health care system also has 28 clinic locations throughout Bucyrus, Galion, Ontario, Crestline, New Washington, Bellville, and now Shelby. Avita’s providers, including specialists, accept self-referral. Appointments can be scheduled by calling the provider’s office directly or calling their provider referral line at 419-468-0961.
