On March 24 at 8 PM, the Mansfield Symphony will do something it has never done before: it will perform rock music with local singers. The orchestra ran an online contest in the winter to find talented local singers, who submitted a video of themselves singing a rock or pop song for online voting. Following submission, fans voted to select the top ten finalists, who were narrowed down to five soloists selected by the Mansfield Symphony artistic staff to perform on the concert.

The five selected soloists for the performance are Thomas Clark, Karen Clifton, Madi and Ana Heichel, Ellie Nickoli, and Isabelle Thoman.

“This is an incredible opportunity to showcase the talent in our community,” shares Maestro Octavio Más-Arocas, who created the symphonic arrangements for each of the soloists’ pieces. “The orchestra can really rock, and this concert is sure to be a hit with fans of every type of music from symphonic to pop.”

The program will include current pop and rock hits from film and well-known artists such as Radio Head, Queen, and more, in addition to popular classical selections.

The OhioHealth Symphony Season’s Bach to Rock® concert will take place March 24 at 8 PM at the Renaissance Theatre in Mansfield, Ohio. Tickets are $10 for students and start at $15 for adults, and are on sale now at the Renaissance Box Office, via phone at (419)522-2726, and online at MansfieldTickets.com.
