Shop. Ride. Giggle.

That’s the welcome message on the colorful, informative new website for downtown Mansfield’s Richland Carrousel Park.

The information on the former site is expanded on the new, including details on the ride’s history. As noted in the section entitled “Our Story,” “Our carrousel is the first new, hand-carved carrousel to be built and operated in the United States since the 1930’s… All 52 figures were designed, carved and painted by Carousel Works of Mansfield… There are 30 horses and 22 menagerie figures, including four bears, four ostriches, four cats, four rabbits, a goat, giraffe, lion, tiger, zebra and a mythical hippocampus (part horse, part fish). A Stinson Band Organ, made by the Stinson Pipe Organ Co. of Bellefontaine, Ohio, provides rousing music for carrousel riders. The inside animals on the carrousel go 3.71 miles per hour while the outside animals go 6.77 MPH.”

The new website shares new information about the facility’s availability for rental by groups, including motorcoach visists, wedding parties, and others. Opportunities for supporting the Park through donations and signing up for a regular newsletter are also available.

As shared in a story posted Thursday on 1812Blockhouse, Richland Carrousel Park will be the site this Saturday for a Christmas Open House, part of the launch day for Christmas Time In The City.  From 10 AM to 5 PM, enjoy Christmas caroling, $5 photos with Santa, giveaways every hour and free prizes for the first 50 children.

The new Richland Carrousel Park website can be accessed at this location online.
