You can now report sightings of other wildlife species online too!
Help Ohio biologists track a number of different species, including black bear, bobcat, river otter, ruffed grouse, turkey, and more. Citizen scientists can include photographs or videos with their report, and latitude and longitude coordinates to help wildlife biologists quickly verify the sighting. Remember to always view wildlife from a respectful distance for your safety as well as the safety of the animal.
Information submitted will help Ohio wildlife biologists manage these species using information that previously may not have been available. Reported sightings of these species can help to predict population changes, prevent potential nuisance wildlife situations, inform wildlife managers of habitat needs for rare species, or in the case of species such as wild turkey, guide the state’s hunting regulations.
